BUNDLES OF 20: Guía para padres sobre estudios en el extranjero (A Parent Guide to Study Abroad)

Hispanic students are among the least represented in U.S. study abroad programs. While cost is a significant barrier, access to information and resources is at least as important. Equipped with the right tools and advice, parents can play a significant role in enabling their children to have a valuable and affordable international experience. That’s why we are making A Parent Guide to Study Abroad available in Spanish—a language spoken in the homes of more than 38.3 million U.S. residents.

Published in collaboration with the AIFS Foundation and written by three leading study abroad experts—Stacie Nevadomski Berdan, Allan E. Goodman, and William Gertz—this companion guide to A Student Guide to Study Abroad contains critical information parents need to inform themselves and to support their high school or college student as he or she navigates the study abroad experience.

We encourage you to share this resource with Spanish-speaking parents to help them provide useful support to their children.

For example, you may wish to consider working with colleagues on campus to:

• Include copies in an orientation packet for freshmen or a back-to-school packet for upperclassmen

• Hand out copies during prospective student days and family weekend events

• Offer to send a copy home to parents of students who come to your office to start their research

The Spanish edition is currently available at a discounted bulk rate of 20 copies for $20.00.
